The Poetry Project Newsletter, Issue 23, March 1, 1975

The first page of this issue mentions an invitation from Giorno Poetry Systems to former President Richard Nixon to give a poetry reading at St. Mark's church, to "be introduced by William S. Burroughs, Vice President of the Institute, who says, 'Nixon is the great folk hero of the decade. He has debunked the whole concept of the Presidency, and the whole concept of authority. Like all great folk heroes, he's been subjected to contempt and contumely. He has had his liver eaten out by so-called liberals. He is a great man. If Nixon were here with me right now, I would embrace him and say, "Show biz, Richard, show biz. You're one of our own"'."

Published in New York City by The Poetry Project at St. Mark's in March, 1975.

This copy addressed to the [Detroit] Alternative Press (Ken Mikolowski), as part of an archive of newsletters from Type Punch Matrix (Silver Springs, MD.).

I have also a copy addressed to Gotham Book Mart (NYC).
