UFO, Number 1, June 1971

Burroughs appears throughout this issue. Burroughs contributes “UFO Space Bulletin: Revolution durch Information”, p. 2, under the name “Bradley Martin / Space Agent 23”. Burroughs also contributes “Deconditioning: Der nicht-chemische Trip”, p. 7, an excerpt from an interview by Felix Scorpio in The International Times. Also includes “The Job: Guerilla-Handbuch für die 70er Jahre”, a review of The Job by Jan Herman and Carl Weissner, p.8.  Other mentions of Burroughs can be found in “Beat Hotel Paris 1963” by Harold Norse, p.9, and in “Apomorphin: Die Neue Front” (possibly co-authored by Burroughs as Mister Martin), on p. 10. Burroughs also contributes "Dr. Rex Morgan befürwortet Apomorphin Kur", p. 12. This issue also includes an advertisement for Melzer Verlag, including the Cut Up Anthologie by Carl Weissner, including Burroughs, Beach, and Norse.

Published in Göttingen, Germany by Expanded Media Editions in June, 1971.

According to Udo Breger, the cover idea was from Carl Weissner and Jürgen Ploog, and was executed by graphic artist Bobby Geldner who also did the title line (UFO) as well as the one used for Soft Need number 9, 17, and 23.  According to M&M, a poster was tipped in – this is not Udo Breger's personal recollection.

This copy signed by publisher Udo Breger on verso, who was the source for this copy as well.

Note that there is more Burroughs content in this item than what has previously been captured in M&M and Schottlaender.
