Tel Quel, Number 27, Autumn 1966

Burroughs contributes "Mais est-ce tout arrière siège de rêverie", pp. 3-8.

This section -- “But Is All Back Seat of Dreaming” in English -- was published in Spring 1960 in Big Table #4. This appears in another form in The Soft Machine, the final number of pages in the section “Dead Fingers Talk”. Shoaf states that it is comprised of excerpts from Nova Express, but actually has an earlier origin. Oliver Harris notes that “All Back Seat of Dreaming” was the earliest working title for what became The Soft Machine.

Published in Paris, France by Éditions du Seuil in Autumn of 1966.
